2025-26 Women's Basketball All-SCIAC Release
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the All-SCIAC awards for women's basketball and for the University of Redlands Teagan McIlroy was named the SCIAC Newcomer of the Year. The award was first given out after the 2021-22 season and McIlroy is the Bulldogs' first recipient.
McIlroy had a fantastic first-year campaign. She averaged 12.1 points per game (PPG) which ranked 13th in SCIAC during league play. Despite being a point guard, she ranked inside the top 10 in rebounding at 6.3. She was also fifth in assists at 3.1 and second in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.1.
Defensively she was outstanding too, averaging 0.7 blocks, tying her for 13th, and she tied for seventh in steals with 2.1. To top it all off, she led all players in free throw percentage at 88.5.
McIlroy and the Bulldogs travel to No. 1 seed California Lutheran University (CLU) on Thursday at 7 p.m. for the SCIAC Tournament Semifinal.
