THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's lacrosse team (7-2, 4-1) scored the first 17 goals as they cruised to a 20-2 win over California Lutheran University (CLU) on the road.
Emily Webster, April Bryant, Mallory Morrissey, Jacqueline Landucci, and Sophia Rangel helped the Bulldogs to a strong 5-0 first quarter.
Rangel then led off the second with a goal off a Ruby Czajkowski assist only 18 seconds after the opening whistle. Analiese Casillas then made it 7-0. The eighth goal came from Czajkowski who was assisted by Maya Weaver.
The rest of the half saw Nicole Sanders, Landucci, Morrisey twice, and Ella Batarse all find the back of the net for a 13-0 lead.
In the second 30 minutes Gwenyth Guico had two goals and Cailin Walker picked up her first assist.
Redlands returns to Farquhar Field this Monday for a non-conference game against Willamette University at 6 p.m.
