Redlands Women's Lacrosse holds seventh opponent under 10 goals in win over Willamette

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (7-2) beat Willamette University 15-3 Monday evening at Farquhar Field.

The Bulldogs scored the first four goals and nine of the first 10 leading to a 10-2 advantage at the half. The first half goal scorers were Cailin Walker (Portland, OR), Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA), Gwenyth Guico (Camano Island, WA), Mallory Morrissey (Coronado, CA) (2x), Ruby Czajkowski (Charlotte, NC), Sophia Rangel (Woodland Hills, CA), Nicole Sanders (Irvine, CA), and April Bryant (Danville, CA). The players with assists were Bryant, Webster, Czajkowski thrice, and Nicole Sanders.

After conceding with just over a minute remaining in the first half,  Bryant found the back of the net with only seven seconds on the clock in what was the first of four unanswered goals for the Maroon and Grey. The next three came from Rangel, off a Natalie Schumann (Murrieta, CA) assist, and Webster twice, which made it a 13-2 game with 6:51 to play in the game.

Following the Bearcats' first goal in more than 45 minutes, Analiese Casillas (Eastvale, CA) and Guico finished the game with a pair of goals in the final two minutes. Lizzy Weaver (Tustin, CA) added her first point with an assist on Casillas' goal.

Webster and Czajkowski led the offense with four points each, Webster had three goals and two assists, while Czajkowski chipped in a goal and three assists.

On the defensive end Weaver caused four turnovers and collected three ground balls. Webster led the team with four ground balls and Czajkowski and Rangel added three of their own. Courtney Myers (Gig Harbor, WA) did not need to do much, making a save in 45 minutes, while Malia Tauanuu (Santa Ana, CA) made three of her own in the final quarter.

Redlands has a bye this Wednesday before hosting Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) on Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m.
