REDLANDS, Calif. — The University of Redlands football program is proud to announce the addition of Tyler Tuiasosopo to its coaching staff as an Assistant Coach helping with the Defensive Line. This hire brings in a coach with more than twelve years of experience — eight of those as a head coach — to the Bulldogs' program.
Tuiasosopo arrives in Redlands with a distinguished coaching resume spanning both Nevada and Washington. Most recently, he served as Head Football Coach at Mater Academy in East Las Vegas, Nevada, a role he has held since 2023 after a previous tenure there from 2019 to 2022. His head coaching experience also includes stints at Mariner High School in Washington (2022–2023) and Western High School in Nevada (2017–2018). He has additionally served as Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Bonanza High School in Nevada and began his coaching career working with quarterbacks at Glendora High School in California in 2013.
"We are excited to add a coach with head high school coaching experience to our staff," explained Head Football Coach Jim Good. "His background in both Washington and Nevada (Las Vegas) brings valuable perspective and recruiting connections to our program. Coach Tuiasosopo has a strong passion for both learning and teaching, which makes him a great addition to our staff."
Tuiasosopo's track record of player development speaks for itself. Under his guidance, five players have earned All-American recognition, and he has helped numerous student-athletes advance to the collegiate level, including programs competing at the Division I FBS and NAIA levels. His teams have been recognized on a national stage, including a feature on the cover of
USA Today. Perhaps most notably, Tuiasosopo has maintained a 100 percent graduation rate across his programs — a reflection of his commitment to developing young men both on and off the field.
A graduate of Azusa Pacific University, Tuiasosopo earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a focus on Interpersonal Communication. He credits his academic background for enhancing his ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with players and fellow coaches.
Tuiasosopo's arrival adds significant depth and experience to the Redlands coaching staff as the Bulldogs prepare for the upcoming season. His versatile coaching background, strong record of player advancement, and dedication to academic achievement make him an outstanding fit for the University of Redlands' mission and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
