CLAREMONT, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's water polo team (4-18, 2-7 SCIAC) had to deal with an offensive barrage from No. 1 Pomona-Pitzer Wednesday evening falling behind 11-0 after eight minutes, eventually losing, 20-2.
In the first minute and a half of the fourth quarter Teagan May (Carlsbad, CA) found an open Marlie Potocki (Joliett, Ill.) who beat the Sagehen keeper to end the shutout.
A few minutes later with 3:28 to play, May picked up her second assist connecting with Lucia Notaro (Ventura, CA) to help Redlands to a 2-1 run to end the game.
Aubree Nabors (Conroe, TX), May, Potocki, and Aubrey Stevenson (Calimesa, CA) all had two steals on the night. May, Kiera Federline (Ashland, OR), Notaro, and Potocki each had one drawn exclusion. Natalie Abril (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) made two saves and Sofia Mather (Riverside, CA) with another five.
The Bulldogs remain on the road for their second of three in-a-row this coming Saturday as they face off with the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) at 11 a.m. in Pasadena.
