REDLANDS, CA — University of Redlands Head Coach for volleyball
Savannah Cox is proud to announce the addition of Jamie Hofman as an Assistant Coach who brings in an extraordinary depth of experience to the Bulldogs — as both a decorated former professional player and a proven coach at the collegiate and club levels.
After retiring from professional play, Hofman channeled her passion into coaching, building an impressive track record at every level she's touched. As Head Beach Volleyball Coach at Riverside City College (2016–2018), she helped build the beach program from the ground up. In just three years, her teams advanced to state championships and earned a conference championship title. In 2018, she was honored as OEC Conference Coach of the Year, voted by her peers. Hofman also served as Head Coach at Rancho Valley Volleyball Club and Temecula Viper Volleyball Club, developing young athletes and leading competitive club programs throughout Southern California.
Most recently, she has served as Head Coach at Hope International University since February 2023, where she has overseen all aspects of the program — from designing training curricula and utilizing video analysis to managing recruitment, budgets, and student-athlete academic support.
Hofman's volleyball journey began at the University of California, Riverside, where she left an indelible mark on the program. She was named to the Big West All-Conference Freshman Team in 2002 and earned Big West 1st Team All-Conference honors in 2004 and 2005. She holds two UCR records — kills in a season and kills in a career — and is the fourth player in school history to record both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
Her collegiate career was cut short not by misfortune, but by opportunity: Hofman left UCR in early 2006 after being selected for the USA Women's National Volleyball Team — a testament to her elite talent on the national stage.
Following her time with the national team, Hofman embarked on a six-year professional playing career that took her around the globe. She competed professionally in Puerto Rico, France, Cyprus, Finland, Croatia, and Switzerland — an international résumé that speaks volumes about her skill, adaptability, and competitive drive.
Hofman is known for her hands-on approach to player development, her ability to build culture, and her genuine investment in the lives of her athletes — on and off the court. Her skills span practice planning, strategic game preparation, strength training, recruitment, and community engagement.
"I have a passion for teaching the next generation about volleyball, teamwork, hard work, discipline and community," Hofman has said of her coaching philosophy. "I want to help young female athletes see their potential and get the most out of their talents."
