REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Basketball program has been selected to participate in the inaugural NABC Division III Tournament Series in Las Vegas presented by D3hoops.com, set to take place Dec. 21-22, 2026 at a still to be determined Las Vegas venue. The event marks a historic milestone for the program as one of only eight Division III men's basketball programs chosen nationwide for this first-of-its-kind tournament series.
The National Association of Basketball Coaches launched the NABC Division III Tournament Series for the 2026-27 season, with event locations in Las Vegas and San Antonio.
"A core element of the NABC's mission is to advance the game of basketball across all levels of the sport," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "The NABC Division III Tournaments will provide players, coaches and fans alike with a first-class event experience while introducing a series of marquee cross-region matchups to the DIII men's basketball landscape."
The Las Vegas tournament will feature eight Division III men's basketball programs arranged in two four-team brackets. Each participating team, including Redlands, will be guaranteed two games – a semifinal matchup, followed by either the championship game or consolation game – giving the Bulldogs valuable high-profile playing time against top programs from across the country.
"This is such an honor for our program," explained Bulldog Head Coach Eric Bridgeland. "The NABC is the heart and soul of college basketball and to be thought of and included in this inaugural event representing the SCIAC and the West Coast as a whole, is extremely humbling."
The University of Redlands joins Chicago, Elmhurst, Emory, Keene State, Randolph-Macon, Trine and Wabash as participants in the Las Vegas event. The selection places Redlands among a field of nationally respected programs, highlighting the program's standing in the Division III men's basketball landscape.
A companion event, the NABC Division III Tournament – San Antonio, will be held Jan. 1-2, 2027 on the campus of Trinity University, featuring Clarkson, Hardin-Simmons, Johns Hopkins, Trinity (TX), Wheaton (IL), Williams, WPI and WashU.
Specific matchups, game times, ticket information and additional event details for the Las Vegas tournament will be announced at a later date. Fans are encouraged to follow the University of Redlands Athletics website and social media channels for the latest updates as the Bulldogs prepare for this exciting opportunity.
