Esha Ball named to Trinity National Invitational All-Tournament Team

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – University of Redlands senior middle blocker Esha Ball (Fresno, CA) was recognized for her standout performance at the Trinity National Invitational over the weekend, earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team following three impressive matches against a trio of nationally competitive opponents.

Ball helped the Bulldogs battle through a challenging opening weekend in San Antonio, producing a strong offensive and defensive performance at the net against Schreiner University, No. 4 East Texas Baptist University and No. 2 Trinity University (Texas).

The Fresno, Calif., native totaled 17 kills and 10 total blocks across the three matches, while hitting an impressive .500 for the weekend. Ball also finished with 23.0 points.
Ball opened the tournament against Schreiner with one of her most efficient offensive performances of the weekend, recording five kills on 12 attacks with no errors for a .417 hitting percentage. She also contributed five total blocks, finishing with 8.5 points in the four-set contest. The Bulldogs fell to the Mountaineers, 3-1.

The following morning against No. 4 East Texas Baptist, Ball continued her strong play at the net. She registered seven kills on 11 attacks without an error, hitting .636, while adding two blocks. Her seven kills were tied for second on the team, and she finished the match with eight points as Redlands battled the nationally ranked Tigers in a three-set match.
Ball closed the tournament against host and No. 2 Trinity University with five kills on 11 attacks without an error for a .455 hitting percentage, along with three blocks and two digs. Her three blocks tied for the team lead as the Bulldogs pushed the Tigers into a competitive three-set match, falling 25-17, 25-23, 26-24.

The Bulldogs will look to build on their opening weekend when they return to action at the WC/ULV Invitational on September 11-12, taking on RV Pacific Lutheran University, Willamette University, and No. 19 Batten University.
