Biography

2010-11:  Third-year sparkplug that helped the U of R to the best national showing at the NCAA Championships in the team's tenure with a seventh-place finish… Reset the program’s all-time 100 Fly (49.78) school record… During the NCAA Championships, he nabbed All-America status with his fourth-place time of 55.63 in the 100 Breast… Matched his fastest 200 Individual Medley time of the season (1:52.22) for ninth place overall, which resulted in All-America Honorable Mention… Contributed to the 200 Medley Relay that shaved nearly five seconds off of their season-best time to capture 10th place at the NCAA Championships with a time of 1:31.95 for All-America Honorable Mention… Joined forces in the 400 Medley Relay that finished as the runner-up in the consolation final with a mark of 3:21.47 for All-America Honorable Mention laurels... Swam the 400 Free Relay that uncorked a season-best time of 3:02.66, which placed 10th overall, resulting in another All-America Honorable Mention nod… Member of three All-SCIAC relays during the SCIAC Championships, posting second or better in the 200 Free (1:23.69), 400 Free (3:05.94), and 400 Medley (3:25.38)…. Captured the SCIAC Championship in the 100 Fly (49.92) and 200 IM (1:51.22)… All-Conference in the 100 Breast (56.96)…

2009-10:  Joined the swim team in January as a first-year transfer, making an immediate impact as a breaststroker and IM-er… Key swimmer in the team’s second-place finish at the SCIAC Championship meet… Captured SCIAC titles in the 100 Breast (56.20), 200 Breast (2:02.37) and 200 IM (1:49.53), earning All-SCIAC honors in each event…  His 200 Breast time reestablished the conference and school standard for this event… Also contributed to the conference championship performances in the 200 Medley Relay (1:33.21) and 400 Medley Relay (3:25.79), both of which established new conference meet and school records… Erupted on the national scene by winning the NCAA Individual Championship in the 200 IM, gaining NCAA All-America honors with his school-record time of 1:48.55… Also posted a fifth-place time in the 100 Breast (55.29) to capture another All-America nod and another school- and conference-record time… Garnered All-America Honorable Mention accolades by contributing to the 200 Medley Relay (16th place), 200 Free Relay (15th place), and 400 Free Relay (14th place)…  Part of the squad that garnered College Swimming Coaches Association (CSCA) Team Scholar All-America honors…
