A standout student-athlete who exemplified the scholar-athlete ideal during his playing career, Smith now transitions to the coaching ranks with a deep understanding of the program's culture and values.

Playing Career
Smith was a dedicated member of the University of Redlands football team from 2021-2024, competing as a defensive back and landing on the All-SCIAC 2nd Team in 2024.  His commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom made him a respected leader among his teammates and a model student-athlete within the Bulldog community.

Academic Excellence
A true scholar-athlete, Smith graduated from the University of Redlands in December 2024 with dual Bachelor's degrees in Economics and Sociology.  He was also selected at the NFF Hampshire Honor Society.

Smith's foundation for success was established early at Liberty High School, where he graduated in 2020.  His high school career showcased his ability to balance multiple commitments, earning three sport letters and serving as team captain.

Leadership and Management Experience
Smith brings valuable leadership and organizational experience from his professional background. During the summer 2024, he served as an Area Manager Intern at Amazon, where he collaborated with teams to manage warehouse operations and led improvement projects focused on enhancing standard operating procedures. This experience developed his skills in process optimization and team leadership.

From 2022-2023, Smith worked as a Facility Supervisor for the City of Hillsboro, where he managed various venues during events and activities while coordinating with different companies and groups. This role honed his organizational abilities and communication skills while working with diverse stakeholders.

Coaching and Community Service
Smith's passion for developing young athletes began early in his career. From 2014-2015, he volunteered as a youth football coach in Gaston, Oregon, gaining foundational experience in teaching fundamental skills and fostering team unity among young players.  His commitment to community service extends beyond athletics, as demonstrated through his volunteer work with Ronald McDonald Camp for Good Times in May 2023, showcasing his dedication to making a positive impact on young people's lives.

Personal
A Pacific Northwest native, Smith brings strong work ethic and collaborative leadership style to the Redlands coaching staff. His combination of recent playing experience, academic excellence, and proven leadership abilities positions him to make an immediate impact in developing the next generation of Bulldog football players.
