A proven leader both on and off the field, Barlage combines his extensive quarterback background with specialized running backs coaching experience to mentor the next generation of student-athletes.

Playing Career
Barlage's distinguished playing career began at Riverside City College in 2019, where he established himself as one of the premier junior college quarterbacks in the nation. Leading the Tigers to a CCCAA Championship, he was named both the CCCAA Championship Game MVP and CCCAA Quarterfinal Game MVP, while earning First Team All-Conference honors. His record-breaking performance included setting both school and California State single-game records with eight passing touchdowns, earning him recognition as a 2020 Junior College Pre-Season All-American.

Following his exceptional junior college career, Barlage transferred to the University of Nevada, Reno, where he continued his development from 2020-2022. During his time with the Wolf Pack, he showcased his dual-threat capabilities, including recording the team's longest rush of the 2022 season with a 37-yard sprint.

Barlage concluded his playing career at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, where he served as a two-year starter from 2023-2024. His leadership qualities were recognized when he was named Team Captain for the 2024 season. On the field, he broke the school's single-season passing yards record in 2023 and earned GMAC Conference Player of the Week honors twice – in Week 3 of 2023 and Week 1 of 2024.

Coaching Experience
Barlage's transition into coaching began during his playing career at Valley View High School in Moreno Valley, California, in 2019, where he served as a volunteer varsity football coach. Working as a direct assistant to the head coach, he gained valuable experience in game planning and in-game communication.

His specialized running backs coaching experience came during the winter of 2021 at Prime Time Polynesian in Chino Hills, California, where he served as Assistant Football Coach and Running Backs Coach. In this role, he was instrumental in weekly game plan preparation and implementation, while also conducting virtual film sessions with running backs to analyze practice and game footage.

Education
Barlage earned his Master's in Organizational Leadership at Northwood University this year, building upon his Bachelor's of Science: Community Health with a Kinesiology major from the University of Nevada, Reno, which he completed in 2023. His educational background in kinesiology provides him with a strong foundation in human movement and athletic performance, complementing his practical football experience.

A California native from Moreno Valley, Barlage brings a deep understanding of West Coast football and a commitment to developing student-athletes both athletically and academically. His unique combination of high-level playing experience across multiple positions and specialized coaching background makes him an invaluable addition to the Redlands football family.
