Giovanni Napoletano has a longstanding connection to the University of Redlands soccer program, with a coaching history that spans multiple eras of Bulldog soccer. He began his University of Redlands coaching career as Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach from 1998 to 2002, contributing to a program that reached the 2001 NCAA Division III National Championship Final. He returned to the program in 2015 as Head Goalkeeper Coach for both the men’s and women’s teams. His continued involvement reflects a deep commitment to the University, its student-athletes, and the development of competitive collegiate soccer.
With more than 25 years of coaching experience, Napoletano brings a broad background in player development, talent identification, recruiting, and program building. His experience spans collegiate soccer, USL League Two, ECNL/RL, N1, high school soccer, and the Olympic Development Program.

As Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Martin Luther King High School, he led his team to the 2010 CIF Division II Championship and State Semifinals. Through his work with Cal-South ODP, he helped develop elite female players and was part of Region 4 championship teams in 2009 and 2010.

Napoletano holds a USSF 'B' National License, a National Goalkeeper Diploma, and additional coaching qualifications earned in Switzerland. His coaching philosophy emphasizes preparation, accountability, technical and tactical development, and a competitive culture built on high standards, resilience, and continuous improvement.
