Perea joined the Bulldogs in August 2024 after spending the last five years at Fresno State where she was an assistant women’s water polo coach. Prior to FSU she was Siena College’s head coach for two years.
During her inaugural season in 2025 she went 1-23 overall and 0-12 in SCIAC play. Of the 12 SCIAC losses, five were by five goals or fewer, and 10 of the 11 non-conference losses came to higher division programs. She had a young team with 11 underclassmen. One of the few upperclassmen, Emma Parker, broke into the top-10 for career goals as she finished her Bulldog career with 172, the 10th-most in program history.
In her time with Fresno State they won Golden Coast Conference four times, made the NCAA tournament four times, and she coached three Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division I All-Americans.
As an assistant with Pomona-Pitzer she won three SCIAC Championships and made the NCAA tournament three times.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2011 from Pitzer College and in 2022 Perea earned her Master of Science in Kinesiology from California Baptist University.
As a player she won two Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships and a national championship while playing for the Sagehens. Perea twice won the SCIAC and the ACWPC Division III Player of the Year. She was also inducted into the Pomona-Pitzer Hall of Fame in 2024.
