Box Score The University of Redlands women's basketball team
returned home on Saturday night and captured a solid 86-63 win over
visiting Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Southern California
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action. After a
back-and-forth start to the game, Redlands took a two-point lead at
12:57 to go in the first half when junior guard Ali Bueno (San
Jose, CA) sank one of her seven three-pointers. She finished with a
game-high 25 points on 9-for-15 shooting. The Bulldogs never gave
up control and cruised to a 23-point victory.
In addition to Bueno, Redlands also gained double figures from
freshman forward Courtney Carroll (Rancho Palos Verde, CA) with 16
points and sophomore guard Mariah Barbetti-Cort (Ventura, CA) with
13 points. Junior forward Meghan Yetman (Danville, CA) notched her
second double-double of the season with 12 points and 11
rebounds.
Pomona-Pitzer looked to Lara Hughes-Stinson to lead the team with
23 points while Deirdre Chew chipped in 17 points.
The Bulldogs (10-4, 3-1 SCIAC) host the University of La Verne on
Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
