Bulldog Women's Basketball Cruises by Pomona-Pitzer

The University of Redlands women's basketball team took down the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Thursday night by a score of 59-43. With the win, the Bulldogs sit behind a two-way tie for first place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

Redlands jumped out to an early 10-0 lead with 15:39 remaining in the first half. With less than a minute to go, the Sagehens closed within three but junior guard Ali Bueno (San Jose, CA) sank her second of four three-pointers to put the Bulldogs up by six.

During the second half, the Bulldogs extended their lead to 17 points at the three-minute mark and never looked back en route to their solid win.

Redlands gained three players in double figures with Bueno leading the charge with 16.  Freshman forward Shada Sadeghi (Walnut Creek, CA) added 12 on 5-for-8 shooting, while freshman forward Courtney Carroll came up with her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 16 rebounds.

On Saturday, the Bulldog women's basketball team heads to the University of La Verne for an important match against the conference co-leaders. Saturday's game tips off at 5 p.m. and features the “Pink Zone” promotion for breast cancer awareness.
