On Senior Night at Farquhar Field, the University of Redlands men's soccer program lost to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, 0-1.  The defeat drops Redlands into second place in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) standings with just one match remaining for the Maroon and Gray in the regular season.

Prior to the match, Bulldog Athletics honored seniors Spencer Dellhime (Highland, CA), Brad Jackson (Medina, WA), Nick Eary (Las Vegas, NV), Noah Prudhomme (San Anselmo, CA), Alex Laughton (Pleasanton, CA), Gabe Ramirez (Pasadena, CA) and Nick Zortea (Simi Valley, CA) for their successes on and off the field.

In a back-and-forth first half, Bulldog junior goalkeeper Andreas Silva (San Jose, CA) came up with a couple of crucial saves on quality Sagehen shots, keeping Pomona-Pitzer off the scoreboard. 

Ramirez almost put the Maroon and Gray in front, late in the first half, when his shot was saved off the line.

After the halftime break, the Bulldogs looked to break the deadlock when Laughton pushed forward on a counter attack, but his shot was saved by Sagehen senior goalkeeper Rollie Thayer (Shorewood, MN), leaving the game scoreless.

Pomona-Pitzer was the team that found the breakthrough off of a long throw-in, with just over 19 minutes to play in the second stanza.  Sophomore forward Avery Raimondo (Quogue, NY) got a touch on the ball near the far post and sent it back across the face of the goal where junior forward Ryan Miller (Centennial, CO) poked it into the back of the net.

Redlands pushed forward, desperately in search of an equalizer, and came close in the final seconds of the contest when sophomore forward Charles Izydorek (Redlands, CA) ripped a shot towards the near post, but once again, Thayer was there to make the stop.

On the night, Izydorek led the Bulldogs' attack with four shots, three of which went on frame.

The Bulldogs (11-5-3, 10-3-2) look to bounce back in their final SCIAC match of the regular season when they travel to Whittier College on Saturday evening.  The outcome of the game will have implications on seeding for the SCIAC Postseason Tournament.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
