ORANGE, Calif. – The University of Redlands Football team showed off their offense Saturday night in Orange beating Chapman University 38-21 in their Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Opener.

The Bulldogs compiled 454 Yards of Offense with 270 Yards Passing and another 184 Rushing.  They had 26 First Downs, held the ball for almost ten minutes more than Chapman, was a perfect 5-for-5 in the RedZone and was 6-for-11 on 3rd Down efficiency.

Sophomore Quarterback Tyler Tremain (Folsom, CA) led the offense passing for 270 yards on 17-of-26 completions to go with a career high four touchdowns.  He also rushed three times for 15-yards.  Tony Williams Jr. (Indio, CA) had a breakout game on the ground for the Maroon and Grey rushing 24 times for 137 yards and a touchdown, averaging 5.5 yards per carry.

Markelle Raymond (Fresno, CA) made his presence felt on the outside with three receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown, with a long being for 35-yards.  Evan Aguon (San Diego, CA) added another five catches for 60-yards and posted a career high three touchdowns.

Chapman marched down the field on their opening possession in 3:48 to put seven points on the board covering 66-yards.  Redlands then responded with their own drive going 80-yards on 10-plays covering 4:46 that tied the game up.  During the drive Tremain found Grant Chaney (Upland, CA) for 13-yards, Aguon for 12-yards, saw Williams Jr. bust open a 22-yard run and then connected with Aguon for an 11-yard touchdown reception.

The Panthers only needed two plays covering 75-yards on their next possession to go back on top with Nathaniel Espinoza finding Amir Adams for a 76-yard catch and run.  In the 2nd Quarter UR was able to get their offense going right away sustaining a drive of 66-yards in just four plays as Tremain found Raymond down the seam for a 35-yard touchdown.  Another Chapman score with 3:44 remaining moved the score to 21-14, but that would not hinder the Bulldogs as they would go into the break all tied up thanks to a :38 second final response with Tremain finding Raymond for 25-yards before feeding Aguon from eight-yards out.

At the break the Bulldog defensive unit made some adjustments and what a difference because they came out and shutout the Panthers across the final 30:00 minutes.  The offense continued to move the ball with a pair of touchdowns being added in the 3rd Quarter, which opened the game up 35-21.  Williams Jr. broke into the endzone from seven-yards out followed by Aguon catching his third score on the day, this time from12-yards out.  Across the final frame UR would tack on another three points coming with 7:11 on the clock as Vicente Garcia (Fontana, CA) converted a 34-yard field goal that capped off a 14-play, 57-yard drive.

Jacob Sega (Oceanside, CA) led the defensive unit with nine tackles (7 Solo/2 Assisted), Laurence Williams (Corona, CA) totaled five, all solo and Matthew Lising (San Diego, CA) finished with four tackles and an interception.  Kamdin Karmann (Riverside, CA) finished with another four tackles but had 1.5 TFL's, a Quarterback Hit and a sack for a nine-yard loss.
