REDLANDS, Calif. – Jarette Barajas put the University of Redlands men's soccer team (6-1-1, 2-1-1) in front in the 51
st minute as he found the back of the net for the seventh time this season, a new career-high, but a 79
th minute Pomona-Pitzer goal would force the Bulldogs to settle for a point in this two Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) matchup Wednesday evening at Farquhar Field.
Owen Jamieson had the first attempt of the game in the third minute. Following the first shot for the Sagehens, Barajas had his shot saved in the 15
th.

Phillip Kostenko forced a second save of the game for the Sagehen keeper. Barajas would then have a pair of attempts blocked as the Bulldogs were on the front foot.
After taking the first shot of the game, left back Jamieson made a defensive save on the goal line in the 39
th. 29 seconds later
Seth Lawrence made his first stop as the Sagehens got their first sequence of dangerous opportunities.
The final chance of the half came from Jamieson who forced a third save as the two sides remained scoreless.
With the exception of one foul in the first five minutes to start the second half, it was a slow build which ended with Barajas scoring to make it 1-0.
Kostenko returned to the action with a pair of chances to get some breathing room for the Bulldogs as he had a shot blocked in the 55
th and another miss high over the crossbar only six seconds later.
Pomona-Pitzer finally got behind the Bulldogs back line without numbers behind the ball and they scored to tie the game at one in the 79
th.
In the final six plus minutes the Bulldogs took six shots but none of them were able to make it into the back of the net as the game would end in a 1-1 draw.
Redlands outshot Pomona-Pitzer 21-9, but only had two more shots on target (7-5). Kostenko had a game-high six shots with two requiring saves, Barajas took four shots with two on goal, and
Cody Bell had three shots and one on goal.
The Bulldogs play at Whittier College on Saturday with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
