REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands men's soccer team (3-0) shutout Life Pacific University (LPU) and Gabriel Martinez registered a hat trick in the first 19 minutes as the Bulldogs won 9-0 in route to the eighth highest single-game goal total in program history.

The scoring started exactly 60 seconds after the kickoff as Phillip Kostenko found Martinez for the opener. Kostenko had a little flick that Martiez touched out ahead of himself and after a few dribbles into the box he scored from about 12 yards out.

The second goal came less than two minutes later when a poor Warrior clearance fell to Martiez at the top of the box and after one touch he placed it midway up the left corner netting for a 2-0 lead.

In the 19th minute Jarette Barajas kept a clear attempt alive with a diving pass to Martinez for his hat trick.

The fourth goal came from Kostenko who took a pass from Yusef Mayet at the top of the box, turned, and took a touch towards goal before finding the bottom left corner in the 24th minute.

With 13 minutes left in the opening half Spencer Palmer took a free kick and forced a Warrior save and off the rebound Owen Jamieson finished off the play with his third goal of the season.

In the final three minutes of the half center back Jacob Sattler headed home his first goal off a Connor Claborn long ball off a recycled ball after Sattler had come forward on a free kick on the previous play.

The Bulldogs started the second half well as a ball on the ground by Cody Bell in the 47th minutes hit off a defender for an own goal and a 7-0 lead.

Kostenko joined Martinez with a multi-goal game with a finish in the 51st minute. Kostenko split a pair of Warrior defenders and got a through ball from C. Bell in the middle of the pitch and calmly slotted it past the keeper in the far corner.

The ninth and final goal that tied this Bulldogs team for the eighth most in single-game program history when Claborn's in the 84th.
