Emma Parker scores 100th career goal for Redlands Water Polo against Saint Francis

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Water Polo team (1-13, 0-1 SCIAC) dropped a 16-7 decision to Saint Francis University (SFU) on Thursday afternoon at the Thompson Aquatic Center (TAC) as Emma Parker (Yucaipa, CA) reached the 100-goal milestone.

On a powerplay at the 6:11 mark of the first quarter Sofia Portello (Sonoma, CA) tied the game at one as Anika Lundbaek (San Anselmo, CA) picked up the assist.

It would be almost a full quarter worth of action before the Bulldogs were able to beat the Red Flash keeper as Parker was assisted by Kaitlynn Pierceall (Beaumont, CA) at the 6:30 mark of the second. The goal was number 99 in Parker's career.

The Red Flash scored three more times to end the half as they led 9-2 at the break.

Lucia Notaro (Thousand Oaks, CA) got Redlands off to a good start in the second half as she made it 9-3 on a powerplay goal that Pierceall got the assist on.

Then with 3:08 left in the third Portello found Parker for her 100th career tally.

The Bulldogs would close the game out strong with three-straight in the fourth quarter as Portello, Parker, and Pierceall all beat the keeper as the game ended 16-7.

Parker now has 101 career goals. With a year and a half of eligibility left she sits 63 behind 10th place on the career goal list in the Bulldog record books. She also had six drawn exclusions.

Portello had two goals, one assist, and three steals and in goal Evelyn Teeter (Westminster, CA) made nine saves with a steal.

Redlands hosts California Institute of Technology for a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) game on Saturday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m. inside the TAC.
