Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Bulldog Women's Soccer falls at home to No. 19 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Soccer team (0-12-2, 0-8-1 SCIAC) fell to No. 19 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS), 5-0, Saturday afternoon at Farquhar Field.

Shannon Stewart (San Jose, CA) was forced into an early save before the Bulldogs conceded in the 11th minute.

The first look on goal for Redlands came off a Malia Kuhl (Seattle, WA) attempt from distance that had the power but was right at the CMS keeper.

Caprial Loescher (Portland, OR) and Kuhl made it three-straight Bulldog attempts on goal with none from the Athenas from the 35th to the 38th minute. But soon after CMS would make it 2-0.

The rest of the first half saw Madeline Tetens (San Diego, CA) have a shot saved and CJ Akroush (Pasadena, CA) have a go, but the attempt was not dangerous enough to potentially be the opener for Redlands.

UR subbed in Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA) between the posts and she made a quick save in the opening minutes of the second 45, but off the save the ball rebounded to an Athena for their third goal.

Immoos made three more saves through the 62nd minute as she kept the Bulldogs alive.

The strong play between the posts was not enough ultimately as CMS put two more in the back of the net after 75 minutes of play.

Rhiannon Waldschmidt then got the call to come play in goal playing the final 12 minutes, making a save and facing a total of three shots in the last three minutes, but she did not allow any to get past her.

The three Bulldogs in goal combined for nine saves as they saw 33 Athena shots, 14 of which were on target.

Redlands will have senior day at Farquhar Field next Saturday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. as they play host to the California Institute of Technology in their final home game of the season.
