Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bulldog Men's Soccer held scoreless by Occidental

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Soccer team (3-6-2, 1-3-1 SCIAC) was in a tight competitive game with Occidental College in the second half, but two Tiger goals were too much for the Bulldogs as they fell 3-0 Saturday night at Farquhar Field.

Brady Bachman's (San Diego, CA) save in the opening minute of the game was the lone shot on target in the first half before the first goal for the Tigers in the 41st minute.

Bachman made another save in the final :34 seconds of the half as the Bulldogs went into the break down 1-0.

Once again, the Bulldogs looked to Bachman to keep them in it as he saved two more potential goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half.  But in the 66th-minute the Tigers put the game away as they took advantage of a collision involving a Tiger, Bulldog, and Bachman that left the net open.

Four minutes later Occidental was able to add an insurance goal as neither team put another shot on target the rest of the game.

The Bulldogs never really created any true quality goal scoring opportunities as they were out shot 11-6, but most importantly only managed a single shot on target in comparison to the six for the Tigers. It was also a very physical game in the midfield with 16 fouls and four yellow cards.

Redlands will now travel to Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) for a game in Claremont on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:00 p.m.
