2026 Men's Tennis Schedule

REDLANDS, Calif. – University of Redlands Head Men's Tennis Coach Mike Longanecker officially announced his 2026 schedule this week with the year beginning on February 7 with a doubleheader against Ottawa University (Arizona) and Stanton University inside the Coach Jim Verdieck Tennis Center.

That Ottawa match will be the first of 20 for the Bulldogs with 17 occuring at home and another three on the road. Within Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition the Maroon and Grey play seven matches, three at home and four on the road.

Ottawa went 5-11 last season with no matches against SCIAC opponents. The Stanton Elks were in their first year as a program last season, playing only three matches with a 1-2 record.

February 19 is the first match for Redlands against a Division III opponent hosting Brandeis University. The Judges went 9-8 in 2025 with a 1-2 record against SCIAC teams.    

Trinity University (Texas) comes to Redlands on February 21. The Tigers were 17-11 last season. They went 3-2 against the SCIAC including a win over Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) in the NCAA Second Round before a 4-0 loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS).

Future SCIAC rival Azusa Pacific University (APU) comes to Redlands on February 27. On the Division II side they were a dominant 24-5 this past spring. They beat Pomona-Pitzer during the regular-season and ended their season in the NCAA Quarterfinals.  

The first match of March is against Gustavus Adolphus on March 6. The Gusties were 20-12 last season. They lost to Pomona-Pitzer and finished their NCAA Tournament in the third round.

Haverford College makes their way west on March 12. They finished 16-6 last year with a 1-0 record against SCIAC.  

March 14 is the first SCIAC match of the season. The Bulldogs travel to Claremont, CA to face the Sagehens. Pomona-Pitzer went 14-13 last season with a 4-3 SCIAC mark, tying them for third place in the final standings. They lost to Trinity in the NCAA Tournament.

The Jumbos of Tufts University plays at the Verdieck Tennis Center on March 16. They were 23-3 last season losing to Denison University in the NCAA Semi-Finals. They were 2-1 against SCIAC.

Fellow New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) member Bowdoin College plays Redlands on March 18. The Polar Bears lost in the NCAA Third Round and finished with an 18-5 overall record, which included a 1-0 SCIAC mark.

Whitworth University comes down from the Pacific Northwest on March 23. The Pirates were 6-14 last spring.

The second Northwest Conference (NWC) team, Linfield University, is the next opponent on March 25. The Wildcats went 4-15 with an 0-3 SCIAC record in 2025.  

Middlebury College was 16-7 last spring making it to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. They posted a 1-2 mark against SCIAC. The Panthers play the Bulldogs on March 26.

Ending March competition, the Bulldogs travel to Whittier College before hosting Williams College with both matches slated to played on March 28. The Poets were 6-11 overall and winless in SCIAC play in 2025. The Ephs were 9-7 overall and 1-1 against SCIAC opponents.

The first match of April will be against Occidental College at home on April 4. The Tigers were 13-8 overall and 3-4 in SCIAC as they took fifth in the final conference standings.

On April 10 the Beavers of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) come to Redlands. They were 11-5 overall and 4-3 in SCIAC, finishing in a tie for third.

Redlands' biggest test of the season will be at Claremont-M-S on April 11. The Stags were 7-0 in conference play and 31-3 overall losing to Case Western Reserve in the NCAA Tournament Semi-Finals.  

The final home match is on April 18 against Chapman University. The Panthers tied for seventh in SCIAC at 2-5 and were 4-13 overall.

Redlands closes out the regular season at California Lutheran University (CLU) on April 25. The Kingsmen tied with the Panthers at 2-5. They finished 6-10 overall.

If they advance, the Bulldogs will play in the SCIAC Tournament on April 29 and May 1 at the site of the highest seed. NCAA Regional Championships are set for May 8-10.

  • Bowdoin (0-7): Played in March of 2024 losing 5-4.

  • Linfield (4-0): Swept the Wildcats 7-0 last spring.
  • Middlebury (0-4): Lost 6-1 last spring.
  • Whittier (21-1): Won last 10 meetings.
  • Williams (0-10): Lost a narrow 5-4 decision in 2017.
  • Occidental (20-1): Currently on a three-match winning streak.  
  • Caltech (17-4): Won the last three meetings after losing three in-a-row from 2022-2023.
  • Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (0-26): Closest loss was 6-3 in 2024.
  • Chapman (19-0): 5-2 win last April.
  • Cal Lutheran (17-8): Currently on a ten match winning streak.
