CAROLINA, Puerto Rico – The University of Redlands Women's Basketball team put on an offensive clinic Wednesday night, overwhelming Mount St. Mary College (NY) 90-34 in the Puerto Rico Clasico.
The Bulldogs established control early and never looked back, building leads of 25-18 after the first quarter, 46-28 at halftime, and 69-32 heading into the fourth period. Redlands shot an impressive 58.6% from the field (32-67), while limiting the Knights to just 25.5% (12-47) shooting.
Wick Paces Balanced Attack

AJ Wick (Henderson, NV) led a balanced Redlands offensive effort with another double double posting 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting, adding 12 rebounds and dishing out six assists. First-Year
Olivia McIntyre (Spokane, WA) had a breakout game with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting and
Colbi Zorich (McMinnville, OR) added another 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting
The Bulldogs dominated the glass, outrebounding Mount St. Mary 42-20, including a 28-17 advantage on the defensive boards.
Stifling Defense
Redlands forced 23 turnovers , while committing just one themselves, converting those miscues into a commanding advantage in points off turnovers. This was due to First-Year
Teagan McIIroy (Phoenix, AZ) who had an impressive all-around stat line going 3-for-6 from the field for eight points, to go with eight rebounds, five assists and five steals. The Bulldogs also controlled the paint, outscoring the Knights 40-18 in that area.
Mount St. Mary struggled to find offensive rhythm all evening, shooting just 14.3% (2-14) from three-point range and just 25.5% from deep.
By the Numbers
The Bulldogs' bench outscored Mount St. Mary's reserves 43-19, showcasing Redlands' impressive depth. The team also excelled in transition, scoring 22 fast break points compared to just eight for the Knights.
With the victory, Redlands continues its strong showing in the Puerto Rico Clasico tournament. They return to the court tomorrow, Thursday, December 18 when they take on Montclair State University beginning at 10:00am PST.
