Redlands Women's Soccer falls to North Central College in home opener

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Soccer team (0-2) dropped a 2-0 decision to North Central College in their home opener Sunday.

In the opening few minutes starting goalkeeper Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA) was forced to make a save. She would then make another stop before the Cardinals broke the scoreless tie in the 26th minute.

Natalie Turiace (San Dimas, CA) forced the first save of the game for the Bulldogs in the 33rd minute, which the keeper punched off the crossbar. A couple of minutes later Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) had a shot from distance that floated just outside the right post.

Immoos made one more save the rest of the first half as Redlands went into the break down 1-0.

The first 14 shots of the second half all came from the Cardinals as they kept the Bulldogs pinned inside their own defensive half. Four of those shots, though, were handled by Immoos as she continued to keep her team within striking distance with less than 20 minutes to play.

The first two shots of the half for Redlands came from Vanessa Martinez (Mission Hills, CA) and Jersey Babb (Littleton, CO) in the 82nd minute, but neither were on target. Later in the 82nd Immoos made another save before the Cardinals finally found the back of the net :38 seconds later to put the game away.

Redlands' final two chances came from CJ Akroush (Pasadena, CA) in the 90th minute, but one missed wide right and the other was saved on the ground.

Immoos finished with eight saves on 10 shots on target.

Redlands now prepares for a road trip to Oregon this week when they play at Willamette University on September 5 (7:00pm) and then at Linfield University on Sunday, September 7 (1:00pm).
