SALEM, Ore. – The University of Redlands Women's Soccer team (0-2-1) secured their first point of the season Friday night drawing with Willamette University 2-2.
Natalie Turiace (San Dimas, CA) was found by Caprial Loescher (Portland, OR) on a through ball in the 13th minute for the early U of R lead. Turiace then dribbled around the keeper and finished with her left into the lower left corner of the goal.
The Bearcats came back to tie the game in the 25th minute and took the lead in the 55th. With less than eight minutes to play, Turiace found Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) on a corner kick that tied the game at two and avoided an 0-3 start.
The Bulldogs out shot the Bearcats 12-6 and put three more shots on goal (6-3). They also had one more corner advantage (6-5).
Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA) made a save in 90 minutes of play. CJ Akroush (Pasadena, CA) peppered the goal with five shots, three of which were on target. Both Turiace and Semmere scored on their lone attempt.
Linfield University is the next opponent for the Bulldogs on Sunday, September 7 beginning at 1:00 p.m.
