REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Soccer team (0-4-1) put together a strong defensive effort in the first-half against The Master's University Saturday evening before conceding twice in the second half of a 2-0 home loss.
In the first two minutes the Mustangs had a shot hit the crossbar and another shot saved by Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA). Gianna Alati (Lake Oswego, OR) responded with her own shot that was on target in the fifth minute.
Immoos made four more saves the rest of the half, while Claire August (Mountlake Terrace, WA) had a long-range shot get stopped as the game remained scoreless after 45 minutes.
Four more Immoos saves in the first 17 minutes of the second half kept the game tied, but the Mustangs finally broke through in the 64th. The insurance goal came in the 89th minute.
Immoos finished with 10 saves and seven different Bulldogs had one shot each.
Redlands begins Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play a week from now on Saturday, September 20 at 11:00 a.m. when they travel to Pasadena to face off with the California Institute of Technology.
