WHITTIER, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Basketball team (12-2, 5-1 SCIAC) pulled away from Whittier College in the second quarter Saturday afternoon as they took down the Poets 69-46.

Whittier quickly tied the game at 17-17 with a three-pointer to begin the second quarter. Redlands, though, quickly responded with a Carly Hicks (Portland, OR) three, which sparked a 17-4 Bulldog run that put them up by 13, 34-21, with 5:28 remaining in the opening half.
The other 14 points during the run came from McIntyre, who had six, and Aliyah Anderson (Oceanside, CA) with another eight thanks to a pair of three-pointers.
The Poets reduced their deficit to seven at the two-minute mark, but it was Hosn and Anderson who ended the half with five straight, which gave the Bulldogs a 39-27 lead at the break.
In the third quarter the game was broken wide open for the Maroon and Grey as the defense conceded just four points in the 10-minute period, while their offense added 13 to put them in front by 21, 52-31, with only 10 minutes remaining.
