ORANGE, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's soccer team (4-10, 3-6 SCIAC) dropped their road Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) game at Chapman University, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon in the second meeting between the two sides in a week.
With no looks testing either keeper for 17 minutes, reigning SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA) was called into action twice in the 18th minute and she was up to the task stopping both Panther shots.
The rest of the half the Bulldogs were unable to put one of their two shots on target, while Redlands' single-season record holder for saves denied Chapman two more times to send the teams into the half scoreless.
Late in the 50th minute after a Panther corner, Chapman took a 1-0 lead after the Bulldogs had been tied or ahead for almost 140 minutes dating back to the game last Wednesday.
Immoos kept it at 1-0 with three more saves before Chapman got an insurance goal in the 64th minute.
In the 69th and 70th minutes Claire August (Mountlake Terrace, WA) and Maddie Wallner (Littleton, CO) both went to the bottom corners of goal but both times the Panther keeper was able to make the stop.
The rest of the way saw Madeline Tetens (San Diego, CA) force two saves over the final 13 minutes with August adding one as well.
Redlands returns to Farquhar Field for senior day this Saturday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m. when they host Occidental College.
