U of R Track and Field continues outdoor season at Pomona-Pitzer Invitational

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Jude Holling (Sylmar, CA) and Mari Evonuk (Sherwood, OR) led the University of Redlands track and field teams as the two of them combined for five Top-10 finishes at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational Saturday.

Men

Holling took ninth in the 200m (21.85) and fourth in the 400m (47.87). His 400m time ties him for the ninth-fastest in program history. He is also only the third Bulldog this century to crack the Top-10.

Then in the 4x100 relay Jeremiah Williams (Desert Hot Springs, CA), Holling, Jaiden Coleman (Las Vegas, NV), and Tyler Levonduskie (San Jose, CA) took fifth (42.38). Sam James (Sandia Park, NM), Levonduskie, Holling, and Coleman took fifth in the 4x400 relay (3:24.83).

Stian Asper (St. Paul, MN) won the 5000m (14:52.79), David Huggins (Salem, OR) was the second of three Top-10 finishers in the race along with Kallen Gragg (Redlands, CA) who took 10th (15:31.56). Huggins, though, moved himself into sixth place all time with his time of 15:00.41.

Continuing the Bulldogs success in the distance races was Joseph O'Donnell (Fullerton, CA) in the 3000m Steeplechase where he finished second with a 9:42.13, the new 10th best time in program history. Alejandro Medina (San Bernardino, CA) also had a strong race, taking fifth with a personal best time of 9:53.51.

Women

Evonuk won the High Jump with a clearance on her first attempt, which came on her second height of 1.61m, 5' 3 ¼".

Kiera Beyer (Beaverton, OR) ran 18:19.15 finishing sixth in the 5000m. Other Top-10 finishes came from Leilani Mayne (Calexico, CA) in the 100m Hurdles (15.28), Madison Eaton (Rocklin, CA) placing fifth in the High Jump (1.51m, 4' 11 ½") and the relay teams taking fourth in the 4x100 (47.83) and eighth in the 4x400 (4:04.78).

The 4x100 team, comprised of Sabrina Tanouye (Elkhart Lake, WI), Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA), Aniah Perry (Victorville, CA), and Elisabeth Eichinger (Yucaipa, CA), ran the seventh-fastest time in program history. All but three of the Top-10 times have come from quartets in the 2020's.

Bulldogs will their squad split split between the Azusa Pacific University (APU) Brian Clay Invitational April 16-18 and the University of La Verne (ULV) Leopard Invite on April 16-17. Those will be the final two meets before the Bulldogs host the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships at Ted Runner Stadium May 2-3.
