LA CROSSE, Wis. – Elisabeth Eichinger completed her final three events of the heptathlon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday when she took 17th with 4,565 points.
She began her day with the long jump where she took 17th with a mark of 5.16m, good for 603 points. She had a big performance in the javelin with a throw of 32.45m, placing her eighth and adding 523 points to her total which moved her up into 15th place.
In her final event, the 800m, she finished 16th with a time of 2:33.57, scoring her 649 points. Despite the strong final two events, she would drop back into 17th place, one spot outside the final second team All-America place.
Eichinger ends her outdoor career sixth all-time in program history in the 100m hurdles (14.48), seventh in the 4x100 relay (47.83), fourth, fifth, and ninth in the 4x400 relay, fifth in the long jump (5.57m),10th in the javelin (36.44m), and ends as the program and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) record holder in the heptathlon with 4,868 points.
Indoors she is fifth in the 800m (2:31.76), fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.24), sixth in the long jump (5.25m), seventh in the shot put (10.54m), and third in the pentathlon (3,279.
Jude Holling competes in the finals of the 400m hurdles tomorrow at 1:25 p.m. pacific time.
