BERKELEY, Calif. – The University of Redlands track and field teams sent four multi athletes to the Brutus Hamilton Multis hosted by the University of California, Berkeley where Nikolas Sorich (San Jose, CA) took 13^th in the Decathlon with 5,787 points and Elisabeth Eichinger (Yucaipa, CA) was the highest finisher in the Heptathlon in fifth place with 4,461 points.

Sorich's total of 5,787 points reset his 10^th-highest total in program history.

After day one he sat in 14^th place with 3,237 points, 525 points behind the leader. He took seventh in the 100m (11.14), ninth in the long jump (6.52m), 13^th in the shot put (10.77m), 14^th in the high jump (1.62m), and 16^th in the 400m (52.73).

On the final day Friday, he came across in 14^th in the 110m hurdles (16.88), 15^th in the discus (31.11m), 11^th in the pole vault (3.40m), seventh in the javelin (47.11m), and 13^th in the 1500m (5:25.12).

Heptathlon

Eichinger was followed by Madison Eaton (Rocklin, CA) in 11^th place with 3,981 points, resetting her previous eight-highest total in program history. Shaylee Heron (Payson, AZ) took 13^th with 3,690 points as she also reset her ninth-highest total mark.

Eichinger was fifth after four of seven events Thursday. She had 2,772 points, 360 points behind the leader. She began her day with a seventh-place finish in the 100m hurdles (15.07). She then took seventh in the high jump (1.46m), third in the shot put (10.59m), and fifth in the 200m (26.03).

Eaton was 11^th with 2,453 points, 679 points out of the lead. She took 13^th in the 100m hurdles (16.41) and then cleared 1.61m in the high jump placing fourth. Her height is the new eighth-best mark in program history. She ended her final two events with two 14^th-place finishes in the shot put (8.83m) and 200m (28.55).

Heron was 13^th with 2,309 points, 823 back of the leader. She took 11^th in the 100m hurdles (16.36), seventh in the high jump (1.46m), 12^th in the shot put (9.04m), and 13^th in the 200m (28.48).

Eichinger finished her final three events with a 10^th place finish in the long jump (4.95m), a sixth place finish in the javelin (30.22), and a fourth place finish in the 800m (2:32.52).

Eaton came in 11^th in the long jump (4.80m), eighth in the javelin (28.02m), and 10^th in the 800m (2:39.08).

Heron's final three events went 13^th place in the long jump (4.63m), 12^th in the javelin (25.43m), and 13^th in the 800m (2:43.79).

The Bulldogs will reconvene as a full team at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday, April 11.
