CLAREMONT, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's soccer team opened their 2026 season on the road at No. 6 Pomona-Pitzer (P-P), falling 4-0 Tuesday afternoon despite nine saves by goalkeeper Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA).
Following a pair of early offsides calls on the Sagehens, it was the Bulldogs who earned the first test on Pomona-Pitzer, which came off the foot of Averie Stunz (Stanwood, WA) who forced a save in the ninth minute.
Then from the 27th minute through the 33rd, Immoos made four saves to keep the scoreline at 0-0. She would make another save in the 37th, but ultimately just over three minutes before the end of the first half would surrender the go-ahead goal.
In the opening minute of the second half Immoos made another stop before Jessica Chavez (Cayucos, CA) put a potential game-tying shot on target, which was saved.
Less than two minutes after Chavez' attempt, the Sagehens put the game away with their second goal before scoring their third five minutes after that in the 56th minute.
Immoos made two more saves the remainder of the game and Jaiden Riodil (Tigard, OR) forced a third save out of the Sagehen keeper as the Bulldogs were held scoreless after 90 minutes.
Redlands will look to bounce back in three days on Friday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. when they host Marian University at San Bernardino Valley College.
