2011:  This captain of the defense held down the backstop for the Maroon and Gray…  Assisted the program in capturing its first NCAA Championship tournament victory since 1985… Member of the team that tied the school record with 30 wins during the program’s 100th season… As the team’s primary catcher, he played in 41 games, starting 40 of them… Posted a .274 batting average, to go along with a .355 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .328… Notched 34 hits, 25 runs and 14 RBI… Put together an impressive 12-game hitting streak… Registered eight multi-hit performances… Tallied two hits, two runs and three RBI against Caltech on March26… On the defensive end, he threw out seven runners while posting a .989 fielding percentage… Dean’s List member… U of R scholar-athlete…
