Redlands Women's Soccer Rebounds with 2-0 Victory over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges

The University of Redlands women's soccer team closed out the first round of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action with a 2-0 victory over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges earlier today.

Redlands got on the board early in the first half when freshman midfielder Leslie Horner (Portland, OR) notched her second goal of the season.  The Bulldogs secured an insurance goal in the 65th minute when senior forward Marypat Hosler (Beaverton, OR) scored off of a pass from senior midfielder Kaitlin Hendricks (San Diego, CA).

The Bulldogs boasted six shots with three on target as the Sagehens tallied eight scoring opportunities with two on goal.  Redlands dominated the corner kicks with six, compared to Pomona-Pitzer's single attempt.  Sophomore goalkeeper Tenley Rawlings (Salt Lake City, UT) made two saves for the Bulldogs.

Redlands women's soccer (4-2-3, 3-2-1 SCIAC) heads to New Jersey for two non-conference match-ups this weekend.  On Saturday, the Bulldogs face the third-ranked team in the country in The College of New Jersey, followed by a Monday game against Montclair State University.  Live statistics are available for Saturday's game against TCNJ through both schools' web sites.
