The University of Redlands women's soccer team closed out the
first round of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference action with a 2-0 victory over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges
earlier today.
Redlands got on the board early in the first half when freshman
midfielder Leslie Horner (Portland, OR) notched her second goal of
the season. The Bulldogs secured an insurance goal in the
65th minute when senior forward Marypat Hosler
(Beaverton, OR) scored off of a pass from senior midfielder Kaitlin
Hendricks (San Diego, CA).
The Bulldogs boasted six shots with three on target as the
Sagehens tallied eight scoring opportunities with two on
goal. Redlands dominated the corner kicks with six, compared
to Pomona-Pitzer's single attempt. Sophomore goalkeeper
Tenley Rawlings (Salt Lake City, UT) made two saves for the
Bulldogs.
Redlands women's soccer (4-2-3, 3-2-1 SCIAC) heads to New Jersey
for two non-conference match-ups this weekend. On Saturday,
the Bulldogs face the third-ranked team in the country in The
College of New Jersey, followed by a Monday game against Montclair
