Tough Loss Brings Bulldog Women's Soccer Season to a Close

After a strong late-season run, the University of Redlands women's soccer season came to a close with a 0-1 loss to Occidental College in the semifinal of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament.  With two big wins in the final week of the regular season, the Bulldogs' run was abruptly stopped by the Tigers' lone goal.

With momentum on its side, Redlands held its ground against the Tigers in a physical first half. Sophomore goalkeeper Tenley Rawlings (Salt Lake City, UT) garnered three of her five saves during the first 45 minutes, resulting in a scoreless tie at halftime.  In the final period, the Bulldogs maintained their scrappy play, trying to capitalize on offensive opportunities.  However, an Oxy corner kick translated into the eventual game-winner in the 75th minute, eliminating the Bulldogs from the SCIAC Tournament.

Bulldog women's soccer completed the 2007 season with a 9-6-3 overall record and a 7-4-1 mark in SCIAC, securing third place in the standings.
