Despite taking a 0-0 tie into overtime, the No. 18 University of
Redlands women's soccer team fell to Southern California
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) rival Occidental
College 1-0 on Oct. 1.
Occidental's Ali Caditz scored an unassisted goal just 20
seconds into the first overtime period, giving the Tigers the 1-0
victory.
Junior goalkeeper Tenley Rawlings (Salt Lake City, UT) made six
saves in goal for the Bulldogs while the Redlands defense allowed
just seven shots on goal.
Sophomore defender Chelsea Hafley (Redlands, CA) led the team with
three shots coming off of the bench, including two on goal.
The loss snapped a four-match winning streak for the maroon and
gray, and it dropped the Bulldogs to second in the SCIAC behind
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.
Redlands continues on with conference play on Saturday as the squad
matches up against Cal Lutheran University at home at 11 a.m.
