With 108 minutes of scoreless soccer, the match appeared to end
as it started between the University of Redlands women's
soccer team and the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Oct. 11.
An Elli Seo goal with just 1:08 left to play in the second overtime
period, however, left the Bulldogs stunned as Pomona-Pitzer
breathed life back into their season with a 1-0 victory.
The majority of the match was fought in the middle of the field as
neither team notched a large shot total. Redlands held the shot
advantage by a slight 9-8 margin.
Junior goalkeeper Tenley Rawlings (Salt Lake City, UT) played the
entirety of the match in goal, recording three saves on the
afternoon.
Caroline Flynn picked up the win for the Sagehens in net, amassing
two saves and keeping a clean sheet on the goal column for the
shutout.
Redlands (7-4-1, 4-3 SCIAC) plays on Monday, Oct. 13 against
Swarthmore College (PA) at 7 p.m. in a non-conference matchup at
Farquhar Field.
