No. 20 Redlands Women' Soccer Suffers Defeat Against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges

The No. 20 University of Redlands women's soccer team lost 1-0 at home to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Saturday in the 2008 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament final.

Laura Hagen scored the lone goal of the match when she lofted a shot over junior goalkeeper Tenley Rawlings (Salt Lake City, UT) from outside the box in the 55th minute.

Rawlings stopped seven of the eight shots she faced on goal between the posts for the maroon and gray. Camila Friedman-Gerlicz notched nine saves on the evening.

The Bulldogs outshot the Athenas by a 21-10 margin and received five corner kick opportunities to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' one.

Redlands (15-5-1, 9-3 SCIAC) vies for Pool “C” consideration in the NCAA playoffs as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps received the automatic bid for the SCIAC. Brackets will be released in a 9 a.m. selection show on Monday.
