The University of Redlands women's tennis team faced off
against visiting Pacific Lutheran University (WA) on Saturday,
earning a 9-0 victory over the Lutes.
After dropping only one game in the three doubles matches, the
Bulldogs remained steady during the singles competition, winning
all but one set. At the top spot, sophomore Paige Sumida (Hilo, HI)
earned a 6-3, 6-2 victory while junior Kaleena Wakamatsu (Maui, HI)
came away with a 6-4, 7-5 win at #2. Sophomore Sutton Anderson
(Breckenridge, CO) defeated her opponent at #4 by scores of 6-1,
6-1, as sophomore Carrie McCann (McMinnville, OR) came out on top
at #6, 6-3, 6-4. Junior Tori Damiani (Sacramento, CA) added to the
team's success with a 6-3, 6-4 win at #3.
Bulldog women's tennis (8-3 overall, 3-0 SCIAC) welcomes the
#3 Ephs of Williams College (MA) to Verdieck Courts on Monday at 3
p.m.
