The No. 28 University of Redlands women's tennis team suffered a 2-7 loss to the seventh-ranked Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Saturday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) showdown on Verdieck Courts.

The No. 2 duo of sophomore Julia Galbraith (Tacoma, WA) and Jessica Ly (Torrance, CA) recorded the only doubles point for the Maroon and Gray with their hard-fought 9-7 victory.

In singles, senior Sara Yoshinaga (Honolulu, HI) nabbed an exciting comeback win over her No. 2 opponent, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

The Bulldogs (8-5, 3-1 SCIAC) take on No. 15 Chapman University in an important regional match-up on Wednesday at 3 p.m. on Verdieck Courts.
