No. 28 Redlands Women's Tennis Stumbles to 15th-Ranked Chapman

The No. 28 University of Redlands women's tennis dropped its second consecutive loss for the first time this season by falling to 15th-ranked Chapman University in a non-conference match on Verdieck Courts on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs faced an early deficit after capturing only one of the doubles points. Redlands struggled to recover the momentum during the singles matches, nabbing just one victory.

In doubles, the No. 2 tandem of freshman Jessica Ly (Torrance, CA) and sophomore Julia Galbraith (Tacoma, WA) dominated their opponents with an 8-2 performance.

Senior Sara Yoshinaga (Honolulu, HI) recorded the only other point for the Bulldogs, prevailing by scores of 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3.

Redlands (8-6, 3-1 SCIAC) resumes Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition on Friday when it makes the trek to Thousand Oaks for a 2 p.m. match against the Regals.
