The No. 27 University of Redlands women's tennis team hosted the No. 2 Athenas of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Friday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match on Verdieck Courts. In a tough day of action, the Bulldogs suffered a 0-9 loss.

Redlands saw its tightest match at No. 5 singles, as first-year Halle Martinucci battled to a pair of 6-3 losses.  In addition, junior Jackie Lacy (Palm Desert, CA) and sophomore Karen Kobayashi (Sappora, Japan) took four games off their respective opponents at Nos. 2 and 3.

Redlands (6-10, 2-2 SCIAC) strives to bounce back on Saturday, April 13, when it travels to Whittier College for a 10 a.m. showdown against the Poets.
