REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Track and Field teams hosted meet number one of three in 2024, the Redlands Invitational on a windy Friday inside Ted Runner Stadium.
In the Men's 800m Brandon Farnsworth (Palos Verdes Estates, CA) ran a 2:08.01 as he took sixth place. His brother Matthew Farnsworth (Palos Verdes Estates, CA) ran a 4:07.98 in the 1500m as he took second place with a personal best time.
In the 3000m Stian Asper (St. Paul, MN) won the event in 8:51.68. Nolan Brown (La Canada, CA) took second in the event with a personal best time of 8:53.69. David Huggins (Texarkana, TX) also had a personal best time as he ran an 8:57.00 taking third. Aidan Strealy (Lake Oswego, OR) was sixth with a personal best of 9:11.78 and Easton Means (Moraga, CA) was seventh with a personal best of 9:12.35.
Owen Schmitz (Fremont, CA) won the Triple Jump with a mark of 14.06m (46' 1.5") and was the runner-up in the High Jump at 1.95m (6' 4.75").
Joining Schmitz with a good day in the jumps was Allyn Asberry-Blanco (Orange County, NY) who cleared 1.75m (5' 8.75") as the 10th place finisher in the High Jump and then took fifth in the Triple with a mark of 13.09m (42' 11.5").
Fresh off a personal best indoors in the Heptathlon, Corte Peterson (Lafayette, CO) took second in the Pole Vault with a mark of 4.55m (14' 11") and was 10th in the Javelin as he threw 43.40m (142' 5") in his first collegiate Javelin competition.
Tyler Davies (Lake Forest, CA) took third in the Shot Put thanks to a new personal best throw of 14.22m (46' 8"). Christian Ferguson was seventh in the Hammer with a mark of 43.64m (143' 2").
On the women's side Isabella Anderson (Severn, MD) finished 10th in both the 1500m and 400m Hurdles as she had times of 5:28.63 and 1:24.08, both personal bests.
Eve Mavy (Thayne, WY) took third with a personal best time of 10:57.24 in the 3000m. Joining her in the 3000m was CeCe Matteson (Seattle, WA) who took sixth with a personal best time of 11:03.68.
Elisabeth Eichinger (Yucaipa, CA) was fifth in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.82. She also finished eighth with a personal best mark of 5.11m (16' 9.25") in the Long Jump.
Madison Eaton (Rocklin, CA) was the High Jump runner-up with a new personal best of 1.55m (5' 1").
Lily James (Ojai, CA) added a personal best as she cleared 3.05m (10' 0") finishing eighth in the Pole Vault.
In the throws the Bulldogs continued their strong performances as Timony Sherry (Shoreline, WA) had personal bests in the Shot Put and Javelin as she threw 12.76m (41' 10.5") and 29.81m (97' 10") respectively.
Caeli Havel (Pahrump, NV) was seventh in the Shot Put after posting a personal best throw of 11.17m (36' 7.75").
Noelle Chavez (Yucaipa, CA) did not have a personal best, but she did take second place in the Discus after throwing 40.08m (131' 6").
Leslie Sernaque Falcon (Concord, CA) was fourth in the Hammer thanks to a throw of 46.29m (151' 10"), a new personal best.
Rounding out the throwing personal bests was Keegan Sherry (Shoreline, WA) who posted a new mark in the Javelin as she took sixth with a 30.03m (98' 6").
Next week Redlands will be in Riverside for the UC Riverside Spring Break Multis on Thursday-Friday, March 21-22.
