AZUSA, Calif. – The University of Redlands Track and Field teams were at the Azusa Pacific University Franson Last Chance Meet over the weekend where they had a few notable performances including two changes in the program's Top-10 list.
Ronan Byrne (Portola Valley, CA) improved his sixth-fastest time in the 1500m as he took 20th after running a 3:53.36. He sits 0.36 seconds behind Riley Lathrop for fifth all-time.
Allyn Asberry-Blanco (Orange County, NY) took ninth in the Triple Jump as he set a new personal best with a second jump of 14.08m (46' 2.5").
Just ahead of Asberry-Blanco was Owen Schmitz (Fremont, CA) in eighth place with a 14.39m (47' 2.5"), which is ties him for the sixth best mark in program history. He also took ninth in the High Jump (1.90m, 6' 2.75").
In the Decathlon Corte Peterson (Lafayette, CO) took fifth with 5,530 points. He set personal bests in the 400m (51.08) and Javelin (47.15m, 154' 8"). Jacob Huset (Tacoma, WA) was sixth with 5,440 points and a new personal best in the Javelin (45.88m, 150' 6").
Wyatt Gibson (San Jose, CA) took 12th in the Discus with a throw of 35.68m, 117' 1".
Eve Mavy (Thayne, WY) ran the 3000m Steeplechase and took 15th with a time of 11:35.12. Only three of the 14 runners ahead of her were Division III athletes.
Timony Sherry (Shoreline, WA) threw 12.76m (41' 10.5") on her final attempt in the Shot Put as she took seventh.
Leslie Sernaque Falcon (Concord, CA) was eighth in the Hammer with her third throw going 44.15m (144' 10").
The Bulldogs will have one final chance to qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with the Redlands Final Qualifier this week, Wednesday-Thursday, May 15-16 inside Ted Runner Stadium.
