2025 Men's Tennis Schedule
REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Tennis team begins their first season under new head coach Mike Longanecker on February 18 at the Coach Jim Verdieck Tennis Center against Brandeis University.
It will be a 20 match season with seven occurring in Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play and the other 13 within non-conference. The Bulldogs will be at home for all 13 non-conference match-ups and four in SCIAC.
Brandeis went 2-15 last season and 1-10 away from home. They were 0-3 against SCIAC competition last season.
After a couple of weeks off the Bulldogs host No. 25 University of Mary Washington on March 5. The Eagles went 17-8 last year and were 1-2 against SCIAC opponents.
The very next day, on March 6, the Bulldogs welcome No. 28 Christopher Newport University. The Captains were 14-8 overall and made it to the second round of the NCAA Division III National Championships.
March 12 Haverford College comes to Redlands. They went 10-8 last spring. Later on that evening of the 12th the Bulldogs play Wabash College who were 13-10 last season.
No. 3 Tufts University comes to town on March 15. The Jumbos were 18-7 and made it to the NCAA Division III National Championship Quarterfinals where they lost to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS). They ended the season 1-2 against SCIAC.
Beginning the next week on March 17 Colorado College is at the Verdieck Tennis Center. The Tigers finished 7-13 and went 1-2 during their SCIAC road trip last spring.
Another Top-10 team in No. 6 Denison University makes the long trip to the west coast on March 18. The Big Red were dominant in 2024, going 21-5, while making it to the NCAA Championship Quarterfinals.
The third match in about 48 hours comes on March 19 when they host No. 13 Amherst College in the evening. The Mammoths finished 12-6.
On March 21 northwest opponent Whitman College plays the Bulldogs in the afternoon. Last spring they were 12-13 with a 2-2 record against SCIAC.
Saturday, March 22 No. 5 Middlebury College provides a third Top-10 match-up in the first month plus of the season. The Panthers ended their season in the National Championship Semi-Finals and finished with a 20-5 overall record.
After a few days off Redlands begins their three-match week with George Fox University on March 25. The Bruins lost to Redlands in the NCAA National Championships and finished 11-10 overall with an 0-4 record against SCIAC opponents.
Game two of the week is their first SCIAC head-to-head as they host Whittier College on March 26. The Poets finished last in conference at 0-7 and were 0-16 overall last year.
Linfield University ends the week on March 27. The Wildcats went 4-9 in 2024.
The second SCIAC match of the season is arguably their biggest of the season as No. 2 and Division III National Runner-Up CMS makes the trip to Redlands on April 4. The Stags won SCIAC at 7-0 and finished 29-4 overall as they lost to the University of Chicago in the National Championship match.
The first road trip of the season comes the next morning on April 5 when the Bulldogs travel to No. 34 Chapman University. The Panthers finished fourth in SCIAC at 4-3 last season and went 8-10 overall.
No. 24 Pomona-Pitzer, who took second place in SCIAC last spring, will play as the visitors on April 8. They ended 12-13 overall after a SCIAC Tournament Semi-Final loss to the Bulldogs.
The final home match of the season comes on April 12 when California Lutheran University makes the long trip to Redlands. The Kingsmen finished second-to-last in the 2024 SCIAC standings at 1-6. They were 6-12 overall.
Occidental College is the second-to-last opponent. The Bulldogs and Tigers play in Los Angeles on April 24. Occidental finished sixth at 2-5 in SCIAC and 8-10 overall.
The final regular season match-up is on the road at No. 38 Caltech on April 26. The Beavers were 3-4 and finished fifth in SCIAC. They were 10-8 overall.
