Six Redlands Football players selected to CSC Academic All-District team

2025-26 CSC Football Academic All-District Release

AUSTIN, Texas – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2025-26 CSC Football Academic All-District teams with six University of Redlands football players earning recognition including Nathaniel Barnes (Seattle, WA), Kadyn Butcher (Vancouver, WA), Aaron Muniz (Fontana, CA), Joey Newell (Duvall, WA), Aidan Petruescu (La Mirada, CA), and Dominic Vargas (Riverside, CA).

Barnes is an Accounting major and plans to go into the work force. During the 2025 season he had five receptions for 19 yards with a season-high two receptions against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Third Place game.

Butcher is a Kinesiology major. He became the Bulldogs' primary place kicker, going 7-for-10 on field goals and 11-for-11 on point after tries (PAT). His season-long was 37 yards against Pomona-Pitzer (P-P).

Muniz is a Business Administration major. He had a fantastic senior season with 31 total tackles, five tackles for a loss (TFL), 2.5 sacks, and a team-high nine quarterback hurries (QBH). His production made him the lone Bulldog on the D3football.com All-Region team.

Newell is a Business Administration major. He is a place kicker and handled all but three kickoffs for Redlands. He totaled 35 kickoffs for 2,184 yards, an average of 62.4 yards per kick, and had just over 50 percent of his kicks go for touchbacks. His highest yardage game was against Whitworth University when he had 440 yards on a season-high seven kickoffs.

Petruescu is majoring in Communicative Disorders in Speech and plans to start an internship after graduating this coming spring. Petruescu was the lone Bulldog kicker to attempt a field goal, punt, and kickoffs. His primary job, though, was punting. He had 60 punts for 2,446 yards for an average of 40.77 yards per punt. He had 18 punts land inside the opponent 20-yard line and eight went 50 yards or more. His 60 punts are eighth-most in single-season program history and his total yardage is fourth highest. Against Chapman University he had 10 punts, the third-most in single-game program history. As a place kicker he made four field goals with a long of 40 yards and made all six of his PATs.

Vargas is an Accounting major and plans to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and work for an accounting firm after graduating this spring. He is a starting offensive lineman who helped the Bulldogs average 114.8 rushing yards per game and a total of 259.3 yards per game. Redlands' season-high in rushing yards was 192 yards against Geroge Fox University (GFU).
