2026 Women's Water Polo Schedule

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Water Polo team begins their second season under Head Coach Tamara Perea on January 23 against the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) taking place inside the Thompson Aquatic Center (TAC).

The VMI game is the first of 23 contests for the Bulldogs, not including to be determined (TBD) opponents for a tournament hosted by Pomona-Pitzer (P-P). They will be at home for 13 games and on the road for another 10. The Bulldogs play their traditional 12 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) games, six home and six on the road.

The VMI Keydets were 9-17 last season with a 2-0 record against SCIAC opponents.

On February 6-7 Redlands hosts their first annual Och Tamale Invitational inside the TAC. They will play Fresno Pacific (FPU) and Azusa Pacific (APU) on February 6 and Cal State Monterey Bay (CSUMB) and Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) on February 7.

FPU ended their 2025 season 14-1, which included a 7-1 mark against SCIAC teams. They finished fourth at the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Championships.

Future SCIAC opponent APU went 17-15 last spring. They were 6-1 against SCIAC and ended their season fifth in the Golden Coast Conference (GCC) Tournament.

Fellow Division II member CSUMB were 9-19. They were 3-1 against SCIAC teams and took third at the WWPA Championships over FPU.

CSUF will begin their fourth season after going 11-21 in 2025 They were 2-0 against SCIAC and had their season come to an end against University of Hawaii in the Big West Championship.

A week after the Och Tamale Redlands heads to Thousand Oaks for the Tina Finali Invite. There they play Biola University (BU), Wheaton College (Mass.), University of Toronto, and Concordia University Irvine (CUI) February 14-15.

In their fourth season of existence, BU went 10-18 last season with a 2-2 record against SCIAC. Their season came to an end in the championship game of the WWPA Championships when they lost to McKendree University.

In just their second season, Wheaton was 0-13 last spring. Toronto went 13-0 during their fall schedule in 2025. CUI finished 7-23 with a 2-4 record against SCIAC opponents and lost in the GCC Tournament quarterfinals.

On February 21 Chapman University hosts the Bulldogs. Redlands then hosts the Panthers to close out the regular season on April 11. Chapman went 12-13 overall and 8-4 in SCIAC last season, placing them third. They lost to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) in the SCIAC Tournament Sem-Final.

California Lutheran University (CLU) will be the first of four-straight home games on February 25. CLU hosts Redlands on April 8. The Regals were 14-15 overall and 7-5 in SCIAC. They tied for fourth in SCIAC but won the tiebreaker and advanced to the postseason. They beat the University of La Verne (ULV) in the first round before losing at P-P in the Semi-Final.  

February 28 the Beavers of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) are at the TAC. Redlands goes to Pasadena on April 4. The Beavers were 4-19 with a 1-11 SCIAC record as the eighth-place team.

P-P is the third game of the home stand on March 1. The Sagehens host the second game on April 1. They went 25-10 overall and 12-0 in SCIAC. They won the SCIAC regular season and tournament titles before securing the USA Division III Collegiate National Championship Title.

Ending the home stand later in the day on March 1, the Bulldogs host Santa Clara University. The Broncos were 6-19 in 2025 with a 2-3 record against SCIAC opponents. Their season ended in the GCC Championship against CUI.

March 6-7 the Bulldogs go to Claremont for the Convergence Tournament hosted by P-P. Opponents are TBD.

Return to SCIAC play is on March 11 when the Maroon and Grey travel to Whittier College. The Poets were 4-21 overall and 3-9 in SCIAC last year.

Back inside the TAC on March 14 the Bulldogs host Occidental College. The Tigers were 9-15 overall and 5-7 in SCIAC as the first team out of the SCIAC Tournament in sixth place.

ULV hosts Redlands in their lone meeting on March 18. The Leopards were 8-16 overall and 7-5 in SCIAC finishing in a tie for fourth. Their season came to a close in the first round of the SCIAC Tournament against CLU.

Redlands' final non-conference game of the season is March 21 when Macalester College makes the trip from Minnesota. They were 12-9 with a 1-3 record against SCIAC in 2025. Their season ended as the third-place team in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Championship.

The Bulldogs' final opponent is Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) on March 25 at home. The Athenas were 20-11 overall and 11-1 in SCIAC. They lost in the SCIAC Tournament Final and national championship game to P-P.
