WAVERLY, Iowa – Following the final game of the Wartburg College Regional, all-tournament awards were announced with the University of Redlands Softball team having four honorees including Maya Holshoe (Redlands, CA), Adyson Kim (Millbrae, CA), Jenay Scott (Merced, CA), and Katlyn Gandara (Whittier, CA). Gandara was also awarded the tournaments Most Outstanding Player recognition.
The Bulldogs went 3-1 over the three day event in Waverly, Iowa advancing to the NCAA Division III Super Regionals after they beat Dominican University (5-3) and then Illinois Wesleyan twice (6-4 & 6-4).
Gandara hit .385 with a .500 on-base percentage (OBP). She had two extra base hits, two runs batted in (RBI's), and two walks drawn. In the circle she went 3-0 with a 2.33 earned run average (ERA) across 15 innings.
Holshoe hit .357 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored.
Kim had one of the Bulldogs' four home runs during the regional. She hit .308 with two total extra base hits, three RBI's, and two runs scored.
Scott led the Bulldogs in hitting with a .500 average and a .533 OBP. She had a double, a team-high six RBI's, and a stolen base.
Redlands travels to Texas this week to face fellow No. 1 seed, and No. 8 ranked team in the country, Texas Lutheran University (TLU) in a best-of-three series in the NAA Super Regionals this Thursday-Friday, May 21-22.
