The University of Redlands women's water polo team opened
Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC)
competition on Saturday with a 17-0 routing of Caltech at the
Thompson Aquatic Center.
Redlands gained four goals from freshman driver Jordan McKee
(Apple Valley, CA), while freshman driver Taylor Johnson (Long
Beach, CA) and freshman center Jamie Paul (Sandy, UT) each provided
a hat trick. Freshman driver Aisha Akima (Honolulu, HI) and
sophomore driver Chandler Weeks (Palm Desert, CA) each scored
twice, while freshman driver Joy Corona (Lake Forest, IL), freshman
driver KC Hughes (Gig Harbor, WA), and junior driver Jade
Valenzuela (Indio, CA) all put one in the back of the net.
Junior goalkeeper Whitney Schieler (Porterville, CA) and Weeks
split time patrolling the goal and provided five and one save,
respectively.
The Bulldogs (9-13, 1-0 SCIAC) head to the University of La
Verne on Wednesday for a conference game against the Leopards at 5
p.m. The game will be played at Las Flores Park in La Verne.
